Paycheck Fairness Act: Better Pay for those with the Right Plumbing
Well, since this regime is back in “fairness” mode, I think the first place we can apply this “fairness” is at every trial lawyer’s office and making sure that every woman who works at one is making the same as every plastic-haired, oil-dripping, reptilian John Edwards wannabe.
From USA Today via Doug Powers:
WASHINGTON — President Obama plans to press Congress today to pass pay-equity legislation that would make it easier for women to sue employers who pay them less than their male counterparts, the White House said Monday.
“Women deserve equal pay,” White House senior adviser Valerie Jarrett said in an interview, citing government statistics that show women earn 77 cents for every dollar men earn. “It’s a very fundamental right.”
Obama will announce his support for the Paycheck Fairness Act, a bill that has languished in Congress for several years. In 2007, President Bush warned he would veto the bill, and it has been stalled by opposition from some Republicans and business groups, including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
This is doubly hysterical as it was the Obama campaign that paid their female staffers less then their male staffers, while the McCain campaign paid their women staffers between $1.04-$1.08 for every $1 that the male staffers were paid. Surely there must have been money leftover from the nearly $1 billion in illegal Obama campaign donations that could have been spared for the females on his campaign staff? (waiting for the canned uncontrollable laughter)
