AP and The Huffington Post – “Journalistic” AIDS
Another day, another outrage.
Not that this latest puke reporting is it at all surprising, since we no longer have a news media in this country. Outside of a few brave souls and hard working reporters in the field, the so called MSM has become little more than a used up street whore, 10 day old makeup caked to her hair, breath as bad as sewage treatment plant and varicose veins running up and down her legs and with every STD in between them. Desperate to stay relevant in today’s society, they clan together in their own informational crackhouses, smoking their bongs and pipes that come in the flavors of Marx, Lenin, Chavez, Mao and Obama. They share such an enclave with the vermin and the roaches, but even those critters stop to clean themselves whenever they come in close contact with such filth.
As has been reported by many today, the AP, defying the the requests of a Marine’s family and the personal request of Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, went ahead published a photo of Lance Cpl. Joshua M. Bernard of New Portland, Maine, as he lay dying.
From Politico: (Hat Tip: Black Five and Michelle Malkin)
Defense Secretary Robert Gates is objecting “in the strongest terms” to an Associated Press decision to transmit a photograph showing a mortally wounded 21-year-old Marine in his final moments of life, calling the decision “appalling” and a breach of “common decency.”
The AP reported that the Marine’s father had asked – in an interview and in a follow-up phone call — that the image, taken by an embedded photographer, not be published.
The AP reported in a story that it decided to make the image public anyway because it “conveys the grimness of war and the sacrifice of young men and women fighting it.”
The photo shows Lance Cpl. Joshua M. Bernard of New Portland, Maine, who was struck by a rocket-propelled grenade in a Taliban ambush Aug. 14 in Helmand province of southern Afghanistan, according to The AP.
Gates wrote to Thomas Curley, AP’s president and chief executive officer. “Out of respect for his family’s wishes, I ask you in the strongest of terms to reconsider your decision. I do not make this request lightly. In one of my first public statements as Secretary of Defense, I stated that the media should not be treated as the enemy, and made it a point to thank journalists for revealing problems that need to be fixed – as was the case with Walter Reed.”
“I cannot imagine the pain and suffering Lance Corporal Bernard’s death has caused his family. Why your organization would purposefully defy the family’s wishes knowing full well that it will lead to yet more anguish is beyond me. Your lack of compassion and common sense in choosing to put this image of their maimed and stricken child on the front page of multiple American newspapers is appalling. The issue here is not law, policy or constitutional right – but judgment and common decency.”
Now, as if having the largest wire service in the country publishing this photo and having it blasted all over newspapers and sites that carry AP was not bad enough, one of their fellow proxies and a true vaginal wart on the body of the blogosphere, the Huffington Post, has decided to publish in Malkin’s words, “reprinting a massively large version of the image on its front page with an accompanying blog commentary praising the AP photographer’s work as ‘tasteful”. I can just see the lefties there now, getting orgasms and hard-ons just mentally jacking off to such an image. Just as many of these mouth breathing, sewer dwellers have been doing for over 40 years. The types that only want to see the American flag when it is draped over the coffin of a fallen hero or being burned by some Code Pink hermaphrodite.
I will not pollute my blog by giving the link and the traffic to such a vile and loathsome site. You can either go to Malkin’s site and click there or go the H&P home page. I am sure they now have it as their site background image.
