Dollar Going the Way of the Dinosaur?
In just another example of the now highly fragile state of the economy that has been directly caused by this administration, something thought unthinkable not too many years ago is starting to come to fruition.
To wit: (Source: UK Independent)
In the most profound financial change in recent Middle East history, Gulf Arabs are planning – along with China, Russia, Japan and France – to end dollar dealings for oil, moving instead to a basket of currencies including the Japanese yen and Chinese yuan, the euro, gold and a new, unified currency planned for nations in the Gulf Co-operation Council, including Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait and Qatar.
Secret meetings have already been held by finance ministers and central bank governors in Russia, China, Japan and Brazil to work on the scheme, which will mean that oil will no longer be priced in dollars.
The plans, confirmed to The Independent by both Gulf Arab and Chinese banking sources in Hong Kong, may help to explain the sudden rise in gold prices, but it also augurs an extraordinary transition from dollar markets within nine years.
Now, what should normally be done in such a situation? Continue to spend at unprecedented and unsustainable levels, thereby crushing the value the dollar and explode debt that no sane foreign country would want to buy anymore? Continue a Stalinist Famine Policy when it comes to energy exploration, refinement and transport? Continue to raid pension funds, IRA’s, 401(k)’s and shovel those private assets into union coffers so that they can be dumped into Dem campaign war chests to continue their shell game of governance?
Well, if you are Leftist Democrat, you should be smiling broadly, since you and yours will be in Leninist Nirvana come not too many years hence. Just think, misery spread so gloriously equally among the people. No more America using “25% of the world’s energy” for 5% of the world’s population. That is, until the reality of the Second Post-Weimar Republic comes into play and that $50 you used not so long ago to buy a pair of jeans will not even buy pack of gum. Or when the lights and AC goes out in a brownout in the middle of July and candles and 20 year old space heaters (if you are allowed to plug them in, that is) will be standard survival gear.
Of course, if there was any sanity in Washington and in any Democrat’s (and not a few GOPer’s) heads, we would be implementing an Energy Marshall Plan. With more oil, coal, shale coal and natural gas then we know what to do with, the U.S. could not only be independent of the Middle East, Canada and Mexico when it comes to oil, this country could be the largest producer of it and be in a position to tell terrorist hellholes and incest-ridden regimes what the price of oil will be. That is, while we are looking up at the magnificent nuclear plants that would be powering the majority of this country’s electrical power, if such a plan was implemented and completed within a 10-20 years span.
Or, we can end up like this:
