Sarah Palin Email Hacker is Convicted on Two of Four Counts

Posted by NosferatusCoffin | April 30th, 2010

A pretty fair verdict, all things considered.

From WSMV: (Hat Tips ASPF and Michelle Malkin)

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The 22-year-old son of a Democratic Tennessee lawmaker has been convicted on two charges in the hacking of Sarah Palin’s e-mail account while she campaigned on the Republican presidential ticket in 2008.

The federal court jury reached its verdict Friday against David Kernell after four days of deliberation. He was found guilty of obstruction of justice and unauthorized access to a computer, but was acquitted on a charge of wire fraud.

The jury was deadlocked on a charge of identify theft. Prosecutors reserve the right to have a new trial on that charge. The charge of obstructing an investigation has a maximum 20-year prison sentence.

20 years maximum, but I have a feeling it will be closer to 20 months or even 20 days. Remember, his Dad, is TN state Rep. Mike Kernell. So I think it is highly unlikely he will have the book thrown at him.

Obama’s Nuclear Ignorance: Palin Strikes Back

Posted by NosferatusCoffin | April 9th, 2010

As we all know, at least according to house organs and state-run propaganda machines that masquerade as a news media, The One is instantly well-versed on all issues of the day and all relevant happenings in world history. Not convinced? Just ask them, The Telepromptered One knows all.

Well, maybe not…

From May 2008, Michelle Malkin had this to say on Obama’s “expertise”:

If you put yourself out there as the presidential candidate most in touch with The People, if you put yourself out there as the champion of the environment, and if you put yourself out there as the candidate best able to represent the Pacific Northwest and bring about “change,” you should have a staff competent enough to brief you on the biggest policy issues consuming the electorate’s energies there as you campaign for votes.

The Hanford nuclear waste clean-up has gone on for decades. It’s been a cause celebre for environmentalists and the PNW congressional delegation. When I worked at the Seattle Times, I took a tour of the now-closed Fast Flux Test Facility at Hanford, which some cancer researchers said could have been used to produce life-saving medical isotopes. Every year brings new funding battles. Hanford is to the region as Yucca Mountain is to Nevada, and Obama was plenty opinionated about the latter issue.

…Over the weekend, Obama also took a question about Hanford. Let’s underscore here that Hanford is not some tiny municipal dump. It’s the nation’s most contaminated nuclear site. Obama’s response?

The transcript:

Here’s something that you will rarely hear from a politician, and that is that I’m not familiar with the Hanford, uuuuhh, site, so I don’t know exactly what’s going on there. (Applause.) Now, having said that, I promise you I’ll learn about it by the time I leave here on the ride back to the airport.

Yes, typical Obama supporters applauded and cheered him for announcing his ignorance and then using it as an exercise in self-congratulations.

2008 Obama Campaign Radiation:

To not know about Hanford, which is to the Red Greenies what Love Canal was to the EnvroMarxist movement in the 1970′s, shows a shocking level of ignorance that unfortunately is just another day at the office for this administration and president. It is pretty scary to think that a buffoon like Joe Biden might actually have more knowledge about such a crucial issue than the president.

Meanwhile, Sarah Palin struck back at President Manhattan Project:

From The Weekly Standard:

In foreign policy, we’ve got the makings of the Obama Doctrine: coddling our enemies while alienating allies.

The administration eased sanctions on Cuba and sided with Chavez against Honduran democracy. They won’t bring up human rights with China because, quote, ‘we know what they are going to say.’ They offer tepid sanctions on North Korea and ‘gold stars and cookies’ for the Sudanese President. They send letters to Iranian mullahs but can barely muster a word of support for the Green Movement seeking freedom and women’s rights in Iran!

And President Obama, with all that vast nuclear expertise he acquired as a community organizer, a part-time senator, and a candidate for president, has accomplished nothing to date with Iran or North Korea.

Meanwhile, this administration alienates our friends. They treated Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai poorly and acted surprised when he reacted in kind. And they escalated a minor zoning decision into a major breach with Israel, our closest ally in the Middle East.

Folks, someone needs to remind the President: Jerusalem is not a settlement. Israel is our friend. And the critical nuclear concerns of our time are North Korea, who has nuclear weapons, and Iran, who wants them.

And thanks to Right Scoop and Michelle, here is the Palin video:

Clueless RNC at it again: Trying to Piggyback on Palin’s Name

Posted by NosferatusCoffin | April 1st, 2010

Here we go again.

The clueless idiots at the RNC are again trying to glom onto Palin’s popularity and star power, so that they can pad their fund-raising numbers. Which I assume, are not too healthy due to their Barbie-Doll-Pull-String habit of capitulating to their RINO base and Democrat “friends”.

From Politico: (Hat Tip: Conservatives 4 Palin)

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has asked the Republican National Committee to remove her name from a fundraiser the committee is planning piggybacking off of the Southern Republican Leadership Conference, POLITICO has learned.

Palin’s staff has twice told the RNC to remove her name from an invitation sent to donors, obtained by POLITICO on Wednesday, showing her as an “invited” speaker to the four-day fundraiser in New Orleans, timed to coincide with the SRLC event in Louisiana.

Palin, who will appear at SRLC, “will not take part in any RNC fundraiser in New Orleans,” an aide said.

C4P asks the same question:

How many times have groups floated the name of Governor Palin to sell tickets to an event by implying she was attending when in fact she wasn’t? I’ve honestly lost track.

Exit question: Why doesn’t the RNC ever use Mitt Romney’s name to sell tickets? He is, after all, the preferred establishment candidate. Surely they’d want to take advantage of his vast popularity, no?

It is time for Michael Steele and his band of Keystone Cops to just leave and never appear on TV or send out another fund-raising letter on behalf on the GOP. Their welcome wore out a long time ago.

Deranged Anti-Palin Tomato Tosser Gets Egg on Face

Posted by NosferatusCoffin | December 8th, 2009

This sort of figures. I assume next time, some leftist idiot will try to throw a bowl of moose soup at Sarah.

From My FOX DC: (Hat Tip: Hot Air)

A man was arrested for throwing tomatoes at Sarah Palin during her book signing on Monday at the Mall of America.

Jeremy Olson, 33, allegedly threw two tomatoes from the second balcony, however did not come close to hitting Palin.

And this guy has the same pansy arm that Obama showed when throwing out the opening pitch at a White Sox game earlier this year.

Bloomington Police report that Bloomington Commander Mark Stehlik was struck in the face with one of the tomatoes and may face charges for assaulting a police officer. Olson was booked at the Bloomington jail. He was arrested for suspicion of assault and disorderly conduct.

A (padon the pun) “major league” d’oh!

These lefty “men” need to do a pushup once in awhile before they actually think they can hit anything from more than 2 inches away. On the other hand, he probably would qualify for a spot on the Code Pink volleyball team.

Best comment from Hot Air:

Were they organic?

Palin’s Book Sells a Staggering 300,000 Copies in First Day

Posted by NosferatusCoffin | November 20th, 2009

Not bad for a supposed country bumpkin and hick who is so “stupid” that the Left has to make up plagarized copies of her book so that they can try to make money off of her coattails.

From The Daily Beast: (Hat Tip: Stop the ACLU)

Going Rogue is going gangbusters, and it looks like both Palin and her publisher, HarperCollins, are going to make some serious money off of it. According to industry insiders, Palin got a $7 million advance for her book. She’s earning a royalty rate of 15 percent, which means she makes $4.35 per book sold, and therefore needs to sell 1.6 million books to earn out her advance. The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday that HarperCollins had printed another 100,000 copies of Going Rogue, bringing the total in print to 1.6 million. Palin would need to sell all of those to earn out her advance, so it’s unlikely that’s going to happen.

But HarperCollins will be making money long before that. There’s a rule of thumb in the industry that publishers net about $10 per hardcover sold, after expenses, but before the cost of theadvance. Once she’s sold 700,000 copies, then, HarperCollins is in the black. And what of that 1.6 million printed? An ideal “sell-through” rate is about 75 percent, which means HarperCollins thinks it’s going to sell about 1.2 million copies. At that level, Palin will have made $7 million and HarperCollins $5 million of its own.

A HarperCollins insider told The Daily Beast that the book sold a staggering 300,000 copies on the first day alone, which was Tuesday. “Sales are phenomenal, and we are convinced that the book will continue to sell phenomenally for some time to come,” says the insider. They’re not prevaricating: As of 2:30pm today, the book was #1 on Amazon, ahead of both Stephen King’s new novel, Under the Dome, and Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol. The latter sold 1 million copies on its first day, but that figure included the UK, and top fiction generally trumps non-fiction. Any way you carve it, GoingRogue looks to be a $12 million goldmine.

And as Obama’s numbers begin to plummet so much that even Gallup is no longer trying to hide it, Palin’s are rising.

Despite being characterized by many as a divisive force in her party and the nation, former vice-presidential contender Sarah Palin gets a much higher positive rating than Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi — and most think Palin has been treated unfairly by the press.

As Sarah Palin blankets the media on a whirlwind book promotion tour, the former vice-presidential contender is clearly back on America’s radar screen. Despite being characterized by many as a divisive force in her party and the nation, Americans are much more likely to give Palin a positive rating (47 percent favorable) than another prominent female leader — Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (28 percent favorable). Moreover, about six in 10 Americans (61 percent) think Palin has been treated unfairly by the press, according to the latest Fox News poll.

47 percent. That is about where Obama is right now. Think about that for moment. A man who was and still is given a free pass on EVERYTHING and ANYTHING is limping along with the worst poll numbers at this point into a first term presidency since modern polling began. While a woman who underwent the worst political and media gangrape in modern times is already tied with him and only going up.

Oh by the way, she actually wrote her book.

More Leftist Child Molestation: Shut down Piper Palin’s Lemonade Stand?

Posted by NosferatusCoffin | May 8th, 2009

While the Left cannot sink any lower when it comes to their NAMBLA-like obsession with the Palins and especially the Palin children, they are at least moving sideways, like a maggot sitting in the middle of a Michael Moore shit is wont to do.

In Juneau lives a creep who dislikes the fact that so many tourists visiting his fair city are visiting the Governor’s Mansion on their tours. So much so that he has 1) put a STOP LOCAL TOURS sign right outside the mansion’s fence and 2) wants to shut down little Piper Palin’s lemonade stand.

As noted by Conservatives4Palin.com (Hat-tip to DTS at FreeConservatives for posting about this)

A Juneau reader, and fan of Governor Palin (a rare breed in Juneau, I’m sure), tells me that Piper Palin has been running a lemonade stand in Juneau. And that one Chip Thoma is the man behind a movement to close it down.

Mr. Thoma leads a group of Juneau residents who are just “sick and tired” of the Palins and the tours that are conducted to the governor’s mansion (something that has been occurring in Juneau since the first governor took office). It seems that Governor Palin is so popular with tourists that thousands of people are walking from the docks to the governor’s mansion in an attempt to catch a glimpse of the first family. Mr. Thoma feels that this — along with Piper Palin’s lemonade stand, trampoline and buoy swing — is “bringing down the neighborhood.” It seems that Mr. Thoma doesn’t enjoy the Palin children very much. Grinch.

The story gets even more bizarre. Mr. Thoma apparently used to spend his time on the docks in Juneau telling tourists to not bother visiting the governor’s mansion because Governor Palin was “never in town.” Now that Governor Palin is in town, he still has a problem. Go figure.

Mr. Thoma’s group has decided to plant “stop tours” signs on the path from the docks to the governor’s mansion.

My question to Mr. Thoma is this: Where would Juneau be without tourism and the state government? It seems that the answer is: Nowhere.

HillBuzz.com weighs in:

But, it’s really clear what these loons are doing, and that it’s most definitely being directed by the DNC: Palin is a major threat and would defeat Dr. Utopia in 2012. Therefore, Palin must be annihilated. The reasoning is: just throw everything you have at her every day, sue her for something frivilous several times a day if you can, attack her famiy, her friends, and no matter what she does, oppose her. If she leaves the state the way every other Governor does to do business in Washington or attend other events she is invited to, ATTACK HER. If she doesn’t attend something she is invited to, ATTACK HER, claiming she’s not promoting Alaska as a tourist destination. If tourists start coming to Alaska to try to meet her or just see her (as we ourselves want to do this summer…and we never, ever had an urge to go all the way to Alasks before Sarah Palin was on our radar), ATTACK HER because she’s bringing too many people into the state and it is inconveniencing locals.

Is this a typical DNC attack, the type that they launch nearly everyday to show their abject terror at Sarah Palin? Or is this troll simply upset that the better smelling tourists that show up in Juneau will confuse his nasal passages so much that he will finally be able to tell the difference between rotting fish and his wife’s genitals?

Personally, I would prefer not to know.
