Obama: “If you love me, you will help me pass this bill.”

Posted by NosferatusCoffin | September 14th, 2011

Yes, he went here. Totally and 100%.

(Hat tip to Red State)

I do not think all of the quantum physics equations in the world could come up with a resolution as to how to fit this man’s ego within the known universe.

Or as Doug Powers puts it:

What Obama purposefully fails to mention each time is that the bridge collapse in Minnesota wasn’t caused by a lack of repair/replacement funding, but rather by a design flaw. The bridge was destined to collapse from the moment it was blue-printed — much like the Obama economy.

Gallup: Obama’s Poll Numbers On Economy At 26%. Lowest Ever.

Posted by NosferatusCoffin | August 18th, 2011

Ouch.

I am not a big one for polling organizations like Gallup that generally only poll “adults” (which can mean literally anything as far as methodology goes), as compared to outfits like Zogby and Rasmussen that poll “registered voters” and “likely voters”, which is a much more accurate methodology.

On the other hand, when ANY poll shows these type of numbers, it is worth noting.

From Gallup:

A new low of 26% of Americans approve of President Barack Obama’s handling of the economy, down 11 percentage points since Gallup last measured it in mid-May and well below his previous low of 35% in November 2010.

Maybe more interesting and consequential is the continuing erosion of independent support for the president:

Obama earns scant support on the issues among Republicans, and does not do much better among independents. In contrast to Democrats’ majority approval of Obama on all seven issues tested, fewer than half of independents approve of the president’s handling of any of these.

As I first noted in 2009, general independent support for Democrats has been steadily eroding and that has also spilled over into Obama’s numbers, in particular. Since it is virtually impossible for a Democrat to win a national election without a very high percentage of the indie vote, this bodes quite ill for Obama at present. Granted, it is still a good 14.5 months until the election, but this cannot be very comforting for the White House.

Of course, I have long said that I do not really expect Obama to even be on the 2012 ticket, as I have long had a feeling that his own party will “Nixon” him out well before. Anyway, at the very least, I expect multiple primary challengers to him come early 2012. Ala Ted Kennedy in 1980 and just as serious. Polls with these type of results only help cement that belief.

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack: Food Stamps Are An Economic “Stimulus”

Posted by NosferatusCoffin | August 17th, 2011

Well, I suppose we can chalk this one up next to Pelosi’s claim that unemployment benefits “create” jobs.

Video courtesy CNS News:

So, I suppose he is saying the non-food stamp dollar that I spend does not “generate” the same amount of economic “activity”? He seems to forget that the money being taken from the taxpayer in the first place, is a net loss for the economy, as it could have been used on the consumption, saving or investment side. Not to help someone buy a steak and bag of chips.

The seepage from Michelle’s lead-based veggie garden is obviously seeping into the D.C. Water system, as once someone enters the confines of the Beltway, they immediately park their brains at the Capitol’s door.

Doug Powers puts it correctly:

I can’t help but wonder though… if every dollar of food stamps puts $1.84 into the economy, instead of the $860 billion stimulus, why didn’t the administration just send every single American $2,800 worth of food stamps and thereby generate $1.58 trillion in economic activity?

This is what passes for “intelligence” in today’s world.

Baghdad Jim Carney: Economy is “Vastly Improved” Since Obama Took Office

Posted by NosferatusCoffin | July 21st, 2011

For sure, there have been an endless stream of WTF moments that have come from the Obama administration since it took power 2.5 years ago. From a President who needs a teleprompter to speak with schoolkids, to a vice-president who says that more spending needed to reduce the deficit (and who also thinks JOBS is a three letter word), to a Treasury secretary who did not pay his own taxes, the litany is endless. Utterly and completely endless.

However, we now might finally have the most deranged statement to come forth from an administration staff member yet.

Jay Carney, White Press secretary (which has to be the easiest job in the world, since all you are doing is lying to a bunch of Cookie Cutter Yes Men who nod their heads like a bobbing bird water toy), showed he must have eaten some of Michelle’s lead based veggies as he uttered a whopper that would even embarrass Goebbels.

Via Real Clear Politics (Hat Tip: Doug Powers)

“Well, two things remain uncontestably true. The economy is vastly improved from what it was when Barack Obama was sworn into office as president. We were in economic free-fall. There were predictions that we were headed to the second Great Depression. We were losing up to, over 700,000 jobs a month, we were contracting at greater than 6 percent — our economy was. So, the economy has improved. It has not improved enough.

“Well, there’s no question that we face headwinds, and the president has been very direct about that. And we need to do everything we can, across the front, to ensure we’re doing what we can to spur growth, spur job creation.”

Powers notes the obvious:

When Obama took office the unemployment rate was 7.2 percent — today, two and a half years later, it’s 9.2 percent. Gas was about $1.79 a gallon when Obama took office. Today it’s $3.68. There are around 13 million more people on food stamps today than there were in January of 2009. Sure, almost anybody can find statistics to suit their own argument, but all finger pointing to cast blame aside, if Carney actually believes it’s “uncontestably true” that the economy has “vastly improved” since January of 2009, he needs an uncontested psych evaluation.

Not to mention, real un/underemployment is actually closer to 20%, the number of homes that are now underwater has increased early 600% in the same time frame and a tremendous amount of capital is locked up tight. By companies, large and small, waiting to see when the next shoe will drop, either from regulation, or from the latest Executive Order SWAT Team, that will swoop in, seize assets and fire the CEO. (Oh yeah, $7 trillion has been added to the debt in that time, as well)

Pretty bad when the “good old days” are only 3+ years old.

Obama Administration: Stop All Deportation Hearings

Posted by NosferatusCoffin | October 18th, 2010

In what is both a backdoor way to simply pass “amnesty” through court inaction as well as being an obvious ploy to gin up as many illegal votes as possible in order to stave off the worst mid-term election losses in American history, the Obama administration has secretly been “nudging” courts in areas with high illegal populations to shut their eyes and dismiss any and all deportation hearings. No muss. No fuss. No kidding.

From The Examiner:

The number of deportation cases being dismissed by Houston immigration judges, has risen more than 700 percent since July.

According to the Executive Office for Immigration Review, 217 cases were dismissed in August, with another 174 dismissals occurring in September. In July, there were only 27 deportation cases dropped by U.S. immigration courts in Houston.

About 45 percent of cases are now simply being dismissed.
The Houston Chronicle has reported that U.S. government prosecutors are now actually approaching immigration attorneys to file joint motions for dismissal of their cases.

Houston immigration attorney Steve Villarreal confirmed this growing but secretive policy, saying: “They’re just doing it quietly.”
Prior to July, the Houston immigration courts averaged 38 case dismissals.

As noted in the article, Houston appears to be a dry run for what the administration is planning for other illegal alien hot spots, like Miami and Dallas.

Of course, that makes quick-buck “immigration” lawyers both fat in the wallet and glib with the results.

While the dismissals have only begun en masse in Houston, Raed Gonzalez, an immigration attorney briefed by Homeland Security’s deputy chief counsel in Houston, recently told the Houston Chronicle that DHS is now reviewing cases nationwide and the policy is expected to be implemented throughout the rest of the country soon.

DHS is apparently conducting a similar review in Dallas and Miami.

As he has done many times before, Gonzalez went into immigration court on Monday to represent several illegal aliens facing deportation. However, this day in court was different. Gonzalez said: “[The court] was terminating all of the cases that came up. It was absolutely fantastic.”

Since Shamnesty failed big-time two different times in 2007 and since in this year’s politically charged climate, it would not have a snowball’s chance in Hell of passing, the administration is doing what leftists always do when they cannot get their way at the ballot box or through the legislature. Just let the courts and the administrative state do their bidding, through activism or as in this case, total inaction.

Raw nerve: Pelosi’s tyrannical “investigation” edict against mosque opposition

Posted by Talismen | August 19th, 2010

You know, when I first got wind of nancy pelosi’s threatening suggestion that those who oppose the “Ground Zero” mosque should be “investigated”, I was miffed…But not shocked.

Granted, I’ve been a bit desensitized by the whole name-calling rhetoric this administration and their political goon-squads have used against those of us who dare to be in the opposition, on any given topic.

Still…The impact of pelosi’s threat didn’t quite make an impression on me, until I watched this:

Kinda brings it all home, doesn’t it? It also brings it all back….Memories and emotions of that day, all come flooding back when I watch something like that.

For me, September 11th 2001 is a “hinge-pin” in the history of my life.
There’s my life before 9/11. And there’s my life after 9/11.
Everything changed, for me. Nothing will ever be the same.

But for all the emotion and pain that I felt (and still feel) because of that day, nothing can obviously compare to the emotion and pain felt by the family and friends of the victims lost.

So I await more “clarification” from pelosi, as to whether or not she would truly “investigate” the families and friends of victims lost. But until then, I have a few choice words for “madame” speaker:

Nancy dear – you have no idea what you have done.

The political ‘firestorm’ that you have ignited by your tyrannical edict, (no matter how many times you attempt to ‘clarify’ or ‘walk it back’), is one that has irritated an already raw and exposed nerve. Couple that with the statement made by obama, in support of the mosque,…And you have the makings of a citizenry about to march their way to ‘Ground Zero’ themselves, and physically stand guard so that no one can defile the losses suffered on that day.

HOW DARE YOU….HOW DARE YOU “madame” speaker….Even give the impression that you will use your governmental powers and influence, to investigate, or even ENCOURAGE investigations, against those who oppose this mosque, which include a majority of the family and friends of those lost!!!!

How quickly you forget, “madame” speaker, that were it not for the heroic efforts of those on Flight 93…Your life may have ended on that fateful day as well. Had that plane made it back to Washington D.C., and hit it’s intended target…That big building YOU work in…You may have ended up being counted among those lost on that day. And now you DARE to suggest investigating the families and friends of those people who saved your sorry ass??!!??

The word “gall” doesn’t EVEN begin to describe your insanity, “madame” speaker!

Just remember this…And make sure you pass this along to all those in your party who would agree with your suggestion to investigate these poor people:

You can demean, degrade, and damn regular ol’ citizens as much as you’d like, when it comes to this subject.
Go ahead…You do it anyway. You’ve already had plenty of practice pissing all over the constitution and the citizenry in general.

But don’t you dare….DON’T…YOU…DARE…Even remotely imply that the families and friends of those lost on 9/11 should be investigated for their opposition to this mosque! Their words are NOT merely rhetorical opposition. No. For them, the motivation for opposing this mosque comes from a pain that is so deep, and so real, it cannot be fathomed by the regular mind. Many of them didn’t even get so much as a piece of clothing or strand of hair recovered from their lost loved one. They have no grave to go to. They have no headstone to lay flowers on. And a majority of them believe that this mosque should NOT be located that close to the only piece of ground they have left in this world, where they can go visit the spot where their loved one was last alive…And perished all too soon.

Stand down, “madame” speaker!
And while you’re at it, keep this in mind…

YOU will eventually have to run for re-election one day…And political karma is a bitch.

Don’t be shocked if the “wikileaks” are tied to the obama administration

Posted by Talismen | July 27th, 2010

Yes, I agree that whomever leaked what is essentially raw intel data to the press, should be hung from the highest flag pole. I just have a hunch that the intel “apple” may not have fallen far from the “administration” tree.

The obama administration has been taking a steady “hit” from their extreme left “flank” for not pulling out all the troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan, the very minute he took the oath of office. So, what better way to substantiate a full-blown administration-wide and very public questioning of our “mission” in Afghanistan, which may eventually lead to an altogether pull-out?

Leak the intel…That’s how.
One check of this headline should tell the tale:
