First the 57-year old woman in a man’s body, (to paraphrase Ann Coulter) gets caught making donations to a couple of Dems who were running in 2010 (including doing so while interviewing said Dem) and is given the pink boot by MSNBC.

Then one, Chris Hayes, who is the editor for The Nation, this nation’s longest running Communist digest, is tapped as the Olb’s replacement. Only to be laid aside when it is discovered that, he too, had opened up his wallet to one Dem who was running in 2008.

From The Wall Street Journal via Doug Powers:

Chris Hayes, tapped Friday by MSNBC to fill in for the indefinitely suspended Keith Olbermann as host of the prime-time political show “Countdown,” gave money to two Democratic campaigns in recent years. Now, following that disclosure, MSNBC says Mr. Hayes won’t get the gig after all.

Mr. Hayes, editor of The Nation, a liberal magazine, made a series of donations to Josh Segall, an Alabama Democrat, who ran for Congress in 2008 and considered running in the Democratic primary for this election. Mr. Hayes donated $1,500 to Mr. Segall in 2008 and $250 in December 2009, according to Federal Election Commission records.
[...]
Several hours later, MSNBC said Mr. Hayes was no longer slated to take Mr. Olbermann’s place. The network said it would name a new replacement soon.

Suggestion: Just put a Tickle Me Elmo in the chair, spin it around every 10 seconds and it will provide more entertainment, less spin and higher ratings then trying fill it with disgruntled, failed Yale TA’s.

What is interesting is that of late, more and more of those that are being hammered under the tyranny of MengeleSpeak are liberals and leftists of various stripes and colors. Which just shows that there is NO straying from the North Korean-like famine plantations that the Daily Kos Leftist Types love to oversee.

Hell, just ask Joe Lieberman what happens if you so much as move a spoon the wrong way on the Table of Stalin.

And now Juan Williams knows how that can feel.

From Michelle Malkin:

Un-freaking-believable.

Cable news blogger Johnny Dollar red-flagged NPR media correspondent David Folkenflik’s Twitter feed, which announced tonight that liberal NPR analyst/Fox News contributor Juan Williams’ contract was terminated — over comments Williams made about Muslims on The O’Reilly Factor. He gave his honest opinion: “[W]hen I get on the plane, I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous.”

Here is the video:

I remember first seeing Juan Williams back on the old “Inside Washington” show on Channel 9 in DC. And over the years, he has been a frequent face on many news shows on many networks. Granted, I disagree with him on probably 80% of the issues, but I always liked him, as he is generally a pretty reasonable fellow. One who debates and does not go into gutter and gets personal, unlike the slugs like Beckel, Olbermann or the very lame jokes like John Stewart or Spock Ears Colbert.

Just a fair warning to any other liberal who just happens to be thinking the same thing in their head. Speak the truth at your own peril. You sleep with the Left, they own you.

I suppose it will not be too long before anyone looking to run advertisements on their site to make a few bucks will be forced to only run Democrat-friendly ads that will not pay you directly, but instead whose funds will be in a Social Security-like “trust fund”, that can only be drawn upon to make campaign donations to committee-picked candidates.

From SF Gate – (Hat Tip: Make No Law):

Politicians’ tweets and status updates should be held to the same standards as paid advertising that voters see on television, hear on radio or find in their mailboxes, California’s campaign watchdog agency says in a report being released Monday.

The Fair Political Practices Commission is considering how to regulate new forms of political activity such as appeals on a voter’s Facebook page or in a text message.

It’s become necessary as politicians in California and elsewhere announce their candidacies and major campaign policies through Twitter, YouTube and a host of social networking sites, said FPPC Chairman Dan Schnur.

He said California’s 36-year-old Political Reform Act needs rewriting to keep up with the times.

“Our goal here is to meet the new challenges of 21st Century technology,” Schnur said. “There’s no way that the authors of the act could have anticipated that these of types of communicating a campaign message would ever exist.”

A rather amusing justification. I can just imagine this person saying the same thing 20 years after the printing press was invented.

Of course, this will go beyond what is considered “paid advertising” and extend to anyone supporting a candidate via their blog or any other online presence they might have.

Bloggers who accept payment to present their opinion in favor of or against a candidate but do not disclose their ties to a campaign are becoming increasingly common in California, but the report does not recommend regulating them — for now. The subcommittee urged bloggers to voluntarily disclose on their websites if they are being paid.

If that doesn’t work, it said regulators or lawmakers may need to step in.

Like California’s current regulations, federal campaign watchdogs regulate only paid political advertising, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures. Other states also are just beginning to consider whether their disclosure laws are sufficient to cover modern communications.

Who wants to bet $50 that when all of the dust has settled that unions of all stripes and any phony front-group (ala Media Matters) will be exempt from any of these regulations or prohibitions?

The stench of Youth Dew has not even faded from Helen Thomas’ seat and already the usual leftist suspects and their Soros-funded groups are clamoring for and sending out mass mailings to have one of their pet “networks” butts be placed in that seat.

I would strongly advise whoever gets that seat to check underneath it and made sure there are not any love letters from Yassir Arafat stashed under there. You just never know.

From News Busters:

For anyone who does not think National Public Radio is a taxpayer-funded propaganda organ for the left, consider that the radical leftists at MoveOn.org are conducting an e-mail campaign to assign the “Helen Thomas seat” in the front row of the briefing room to NPR a “real, public” news organ, not that Fox “propaganda machine.” They think NPR can offer a better cloning of Helen Thomas:

    Dear MoveOn member,

As early as Sunday, the White House Correspondents’ Association will decide which news organization will be awarded a recently-vacated front-row center seat in the White House briefing room. The contenders? National Public Radio, Bloomberg News—and Fox.

Yes, Fox—which we all know is actually a tool in the right-wing propaganda machine, not a legitimate news organization. They simply don’t deserve the best seat in the White House briefing room—a seat held for years by journalist Helen Thomas until she retired recently.

So we’re joining our friends at CREDO Action to petition the Correspondents’ Association to award the seat to a real, public news organization: NPR.

Can you sign the petition today? Tell the Correspondents’ Association to give the best seat in the briefing room to NPR, not Fox.

The petition says, “Give Helen Thomas’ former briefing room seat to NPR, which has provided public interest coverage for decades—not Fox, which is a right-wing propaganda tool, not a legitimate news organization.”

Then, please forward this email to your friends and post on Facebook and Twitter so we can spread the news faster. Already 140,000 people have signed onto this call through CREDO Action. Help us get up to 250,000 before the meeting on Sunday!

Winning this seat would give Fox legitimacy it simply doesn’t deserve—not after years of race-baiting, smears against progressives and Democrats, and spreading right-wing propaganda 24/7.

So instead we’re calling on the Association to award the seat to one of our nation’s premiere news organizations, which has served the public for years and currently reaches an audience of 27 million.

Also, no surprise that the criminal front group, Media Matters is also involved in this ridiculous exercise. But would you expect anything less from such an outfit?

Media Matters is encouraging the petition, naturally, and reports “They have collected more than 80% of their targeted 200,000 signatures. Read the petition text below and add your name to the more than 162,000 signers”.

Amazing that Media Matters could find that many ObamaBorg who can sign their own names.

Well, this was inevitable as Obama taking the weekend off for another 18 holes.

Over the last 25 years, the news media, both of the print and broadcast varieties, have suffered a massive loss of readership and viewership. Network TV viewership, which peaked in the mid 80′s has lost more than 55% of it’s viewership since then. Many papers across the nation have closed and even long-standing stalwarts in the field, such as The New York Times, have instituted massive budget cuts and staff layoffs. (up to 90% in some sections of the paper)

To quote from “Cool Hand Luke”, “Gentleman, what we have here is a failure to communicate.” Only this applies in sort of a reverse order. The communication is not the problem. It is the message. Compared to just 25 years ago, when the news was dominated by the Big Three networks and large newspaper such as the Times, the Washington Post etc., today the news consumer has more choices for getting their news and other information from then there are brands of cola. And what we really have here is a rejection of the old-style, leftist/liberal slant that has so dominated the industry for the better part of a century.

Now we have the FTC coming up with a “Drudge Tax” in order to bail out (read: redistribute wealth) from the taxpayer to the usual Leftist House Organs.

From The Washington Times: (Hat Tip: Free Conservatives)

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is seeking ways to “reinvent” journalism, and that’s a cause for concern. According to a May 24 draft proposal, the agency thinks government should be at the center of a media overhaul. The bureaucracy sees it as a problem that the Internet has introduced a wealth of information options to consumers, forcing media companies to adapt and experiment to meet changing market needs. FTC’s policy staff fears this new reality.

“There are reasons for concern that experimentation may not produce a robust and sustainable business model for commercial journalism,” the report states. With no faith that the market will work things out for the better, government thinks it must come to the rescue.

The ideas being batted around to save the industry share a common theme: They are designed to empower bureaucrats, not consumers. For instance, one proposal would, “Allow news organizations to agree jointly on a mechanism to require news aggregators and others to pay for the use of online content, perhaps through the use of copyright licenses.”

In other words, government policy would encourage a tax on websites like the Drudge Report, a must-read source for the news links of the day, so that the agency can redistribute the funds collected to various newspapers. Such a tax would hit other news aggregators, such as Digg, Fark and Reddit, which not only gather links, but provide a forum for a lively and entertaining discussion of the issues raised by the stories. Fostering a robust public-policy debate, not saving a particular business model, should be the goal of journalism in the first place.

That is, when they are not trying every tactic, smear and unconstitutional trick in the book to shutdown FOX News and talk radio.

Bloomberg: “Times Square for $200, Alex.”

“The answer is:

Grainy footage of possible man (being NYC, who can tell anymore?) walking 20 yards from a smoking car that was found to be filled with explosives.”

Bloomberg: (Via CBS News)

“There is no credible evidence so far that this attack was more than at least one person, the driver,” said Mayor Mike Bloomberg. “After that there is no evidence that anyone else was involved. It may be, but we can’t say that it is.”…

“If I had to guess, twenty five cents, this would be exactly that,” Bloomberg said. “Homegrown maybe a mentally deranged person or someone with a political agenda that doesn’t like the health care bill or something. It could be anything.”

Maybe he was driven insane by those lack of foot baths at the local Urgent Care.

From Hot Air via Michelle Malkin:

Could be. Since we’re pulling theories out of our ass, let me try a few. Maaaaybe … it’s a liberal amnesty shill upset at Nazi America’s tolerance of Arizona’s immigration law? Maaaaybe … it’s a gay-rights supporter irate at the slow pace of progress on “don’t ask, don’t tell”? Maaaaybe … it’s a nutritional fanatic angry that the City hasn’t completely banned salt yet? (Actually, that would make Nanny Bloomberg a prime suspect.) Maaaaybe … it’s the president’s old pal Bill Ayers reliving his glory days? Anything’s possible, so why not have the mayor of the country’s largest city speculate idly on the national news about it?

Mark Steyn:

Whenever something goofy happens — bomb in Times Square, mass shootings at a US military base, etc. — there seem to be two kinds of reactions:

a) Some people go, “Hmm. I wonder if this involves some guy with a name like Mohammed who has e-mails from Yemen.”

b) Other people go, “Don’t worry, there’s no connection to terrorism, and anyway, even if there is, it’s all very amateurish, and besides he’s most likely an isolated extremist or lone wolf.”

Unfortunately, everyone in category (b) seems to work for the government.

And even if there is a terrorist connection, the “lone wolf” will be lawyered up, read his rights and given a TiVo box filled to the brim with Obama and Rev. Wright’s speeches. (what, you think only the Queen of England is worthy to receive that?)

Meanwhile, some media skank named Contessa Brewer, who works at the Pasty-White Hate Factory disguising itself as a “news” organization, MSLSD, lifts her skirt to show her political STD’s:

Hat Tip: Hot Air:

BREWER: I mean the thing is is that and I get frustrated and there was part of me that was hoping this was not going to be anybody with ties to any kind of Islamic country because there are a lot of people who want to use this terrorist intent to justify writing off people who believe in a certain way or come from certain countries or whose skin color is a certain way. I mean they use it as justification for really outdated bigotry.

And so there was part of me was really hoping this would not be the case that here would be somebody who is not the defined. I mean he’s accused he’s arrested you know I don’t want to convict him before it’s time to do so. He’s the guy authorities say is involved. But that being said I mean we know even in recent history you have the Hutaree militia from Michigan who have plans to let’s face it create terror.

That’s what they were planning to do and they were doing so from far different backgrounds then what this guy is coming from. So, the threat is not just coming from people who decide that America is the place to be and you know come here and want to become citizens. Obviously this guy did.

And you people wonder why your ratings are in Keith Olbermann’s toilet and why ABC News just axed a good 25% of it’s workforce? And most of all, why the media is held in lower regard than a serial puppy killer?

Hypocrite, thy name is Liberal.

Bill Press, that old fossil who you might remember used to have his clock cleaned by Robert Novak on the old CNN “Crossfire” show, has emerged from the grave (I am sure a lot of people did not know that he was even still alive) and has shown himself to be the latest Good Little Mao Red Book carrying soldier to smear any and all who “oppose” the census.

From BillPressShow.com (Hat Tip: Michelle Malkin)

Why is Mr. Erickson still at large? He is as dangerous as any member of any armed militia who threatens the life of federal agents….

Two things to remember: One, the census is no threat to anybody, and it IS required by the U.S. Constitution.

Two, I’m all for freedom of speech, but threats to assassinate government officials is not protected by the First Amendment.

Lock Erick Erickson up – and throw the key away.

However, as is usual when it comes to the faux outrage of clueless Leftists, there is a problem with the facts. The fact being that Erickson never said those words about the census. In fact, quite the opposite:

From Human Events:

At Tuesday’s White House press briefing, Bill Press, a former California Democratic Party chairman as well as a former CNN contributor who no longer works for the network, said, “Erick Erickson’s a commentator for CNN. A couple of days ago, he said he was not going to fill out his census form and if a census worker came to the door, he said he would quote ‘pull out my wife’s shotgun and see how that little twerp likes being scared at the door.’”

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, under the delusion that Bill Press was telling the truth, replied, “It should concern CNN, if — probably first and foremost. It probably concerns his wife as well.”

Here’s the real story: Last Thursday, filling in on a local radio station in Georgia, Erickson launched into a ten minute defense of filling out the census, delving into its impact at the local level, and ridiculing those who claim the information requested by the census is unconstitutional. You can listen to the audio here. It is quite clear that Erickson strongly urges his listeners to complete the census. No one who listened to Erickson’s broadcast could have concluded otherwise.

Among the choice bits, Erickson said, “It’s a constitutional obligation. How can a 21st Century society function without knowing how many people are actually living in the country, legally versus illegally for that matter? What’s the harm with filling out the census? The Constitution — for those of you who say I’m not filling out the census — it’s in the freaking Constitution. You got to fill out your census.”

About nine minutes into his radio monologue, Erickson switched gears and began to discuss the American Community Survey (ACS), a survey carried out by the Commerce Department’s Census Bureau. Many conservatives say the ACS is an overreach of the Commerce Department’s authority to conduct the census. Among other things, this survey, which is not the census, requires individuals to tell the government details about their finances, whether they have a flush toilet in their home, their commute to work, and other matters in a clear invasion of privacy.

Still waiting for Press and his ilk to be just as outraged about the author and moviemakers spewing their hate about assassinating George W. Bush or Dick Cheney or those who burned down Sarah Palin’s hometown church, or fired a shot into Rep. Eric Cantor’s office or the recent brick throwing through…and uh…

Oh forget it, I will hurt myself listing all of the recent Terrorist Left attacks if I keep going like this.

Well, the self-anointed closet racists at NBC (home of the All-White Network, MSLSD) have stepped into that dog’s societal poop yet again. and in a deliciously ironic way.

Needles to say, if this has been any GOP, conservative group or even FOX News for that matter, we would never hear the end of it. Al Sharpton would need a Port-a-Potty to keep up with all of the time he would be spending outside of the company offices of said organization, and probably a Sucrets as well, while he was spouting out his racial Allah-Akburs.

From Mediaite: (Hat Tip tp the Mark Levin Show)

So who at NBC thought it would be a good idea for the special today to be, among other things, fried chicken, “in honor of Black History Month”?

Because, spoiler alert – it wasn’t a good idea at all. And now NBCU employee Questlove is bringing it to the attention of his 1 million plus Twitter followers.

Questlove, the band leader and drummer for The Roots (the house band on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon) tweeted this picture from the NBC Commissary at 30 Rock, with the comment: “Hmm HR?”

They might as well have added watermelon to the menu and a minstrel show.

Just when you think it cannot get any better, along comes two more good pieces of news. One small, one huge.

From Pipe Line News: (Hat Tip: Free Conservatives)

January 21, 2010 – San Francisco, CA – PipeLineNews.org – In a remarkably powerful way the U.S. Supreme Court has struck a huge and far reaching blow in support of the First Amendment, overturning significant aspects of previous “campaign finance reform” legislation, declaring it unconstitutional.

The 5-4 Decision written by justice Kennedy struck down a key provision in McCain Feingold, the onerous legislation passed during GW Bush’s first term, which many on the right considered unconstitutional at the time as well as the 1990 Austin decision.

The specific case deals with a campaign documentary generated by the non-profit Citizens United which was critical of then candidate Hillary Clinton.

Fearful that the campaign piece might be violative of McCain Feingold, Citizens sought declaratory and injunctive relief to avoid potential criminal and civil penalties.

The DC District Court decided against the plaintiff and from there it was appealed to the SCOTUS which today ruled in favor of Citizens, overturning the District Court decision.

While it is disquieting that the ruling was only 5-4, a win is still a win. Since the chances of Obama being re-elected to second term and naming more Wise Latinas and other Assorted Marxists to the court are about as good as Michael Moore running the Boston Marathon in record time,

The other piece is of less consequence, but no less satisfying.

From The Washington Post: (Hat Tip: Free Conservatives)

Air America, the talk-radio network that helped boost the careers of liberals Al Franken and Rachel Maddow, said Thursday it was going out of business.

In a statement to employees of the New York-based network, Air America’s chairman, Charlie Kireker, wrote: “It is with the greatest regret, on behalf of our Board, that we must announce that Air America Media is ceasing its live programming operations as of this afternoon, and that the Company will file soon under Chapter 7 of the Bankruptcy Code to carry out an orderly winding-down of the business.

“The very difficult economic environment has had a significant impact on Air America’s business. This past year has seen a ‘perfect storm’ in the media industry generally. . . . In this climate, our painstaking search for new investors has come close several times right up into this week, but ultimately fell short of success.”

Ummmm…a “difficult economic environment”? It sure does not seem to be affecting the likes of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity or Mark Levin et al. Then again, they do not have to pay for radio stations to carry their shows because of zero advertising and audience. Nor did they have to steal ten of thousands of dollars from needy New York children and the elderly in order to operate. (Someone needs to put Franken under oath and have him explain where all of that loot went to)

From their statement: (Hat Tip: Michelle Malkin)

It is with the greatest regret, on behalf of our Board, that we must announce that Air America Media is ceasing its live programming operations as of this afternoon, and that the Company will file soon under Chapter 7 of the Bankruptcy Code to carry out an orderly winding-down of the business.

The very difficult economic environment has had a significant impact on Air America’s business. This past year has seen a “perfect storm” in the media industry generally. National and local advertising revenues have fallen drastically, causing many media companies nationwide to fold or seek bankruptcy protection. From large to small, recent bankruptcies like Citadel Broadcasting and closures like that of the industry’s long-time trade publication Radio and Records have signaled that these are very difficult and rapidly changing times.

Those companies that remain are facing audience fragmentation as a result of new media technologies, are often saddled with crushing debt, and have generally found it difficult to obtain operating or investment capital from traditional sources of funding. In this climate, our painstaking search for new investors has come close several times right up into this week, but ultimately fell short of success.

With radio industry ad revenues down for 10 consecutive quarters, and reportedly off 21% in 2009, signs of improvement have consisted of hoping things will be less bad. And though Internet/new media revenues are projected to grow, our expanding online efforts face the same monetization and profitability challenges in the short term confronting the Web operations of most media companies

When Air America Radio launched in April, 2004 with already-known personalities like Al Franken and then-unknown future stars like Rachel Maddow, it was the only full-time progressive voice in the mainstream broadcast media world. At a critical time in our nation’s history — when dissent on issues such as the Iraq war were often denounced as “un-American” — Air America and its talented team helped millions of Americans remember the importance of compelling discussion about the most pivotal events and decisions of our generation.

Through some 100 radio outlets nationwide, Air America helped build a new sense of purpose and determination among American progressives. With this revival, the progressive movement made major gains in the 2006 mid-term elections and, more recently, in the election of President Barack Obama and a strongly Democratic Congress.

And a small amount of noise pollution has removed from the environment. That is the type of “green” I can support.

Mr. President, what about those job, jobs, jobs? Unemployment just went up. Again.

Well, I suppose it was inevitable. After all, the Left’s political gangrape of Sarah Palin cannot take a breather for more than a few days or weeks at a time. However, this is so pathetic, that even a 5 year old would laugh at the immaturity of it all.

From EW.com (Hat Tip: Sister Toldjah)

We know that former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin can hunt, and even field-dress a moose, but how will she take to poachers on her book sales? Start-up publisher OR Books has announced plans to publish Going Rouge: Sarah Palin An American Nightmare, a collection of essays about the maverick Republican with a title — and cover design — remarkably similar to Palin’s upcoming memoir. What’s more, OR’s paperback tome will be released on Nov. 17, the same day that Palin’s own Going Rogue: An American Life hits shelves — and one day after Palin’s just-announced, first-ever appearance on Oprah Winfrey’s show. (A shout-out to Ron Hogan at GalleyCat for the tip.)

Going Rouge is compiled by Richard Kim and Betsy Reed, two top editors of the left-leaning weekly The Nation, and includes essays by Nation regulars like Katrina vanden Heuvel, Naomi Klein, and Katha Pollitt. It’s the first release from OR Books, a fledgling outfit founded earlier this year by publishing veterans John Oakes and Colin Robinson that “embraces progressive change in politics, culture and the way we do business,” according to its website.

Book Covers (real one of the right)

Ed Morrisey comments:

Would “the most honest account” have to be wrapped in a deceptive cover, intended to confuse consumers into buying the wrong book? If it doesn’t start out with an honest approach, why should we trust that the same people who made that decision will be honest inside the covers? For an answer to that, we only need see the list of essayists included in this rehash of old Palin-opposing material, who include such straight-arrow observers as Amanda Marcotte, Max Blumenthal, Eve Ensler, and Jane Hamsher. Hamsher made her biggest political splash when she put Joe Lieberman in blackface during his re-election campaign. Marcotte got fired from the Edwards campaign for her vilification of religious believers in language bad enough to actually embarrass Edwards — and given Edwards’ history, that’s saying something indeed.

The whole thing looks like a bad Mad Magazine takeoff of a book, which is the impression that The Nation leaves with its Going Rouge cheapie. And the bottom line is this: after 150 years of publication, The Nation has to piggyback off of a Republican VP candidate to achieve relevance. Have The Nation’s editors become so insecure about their product that they feel they can only sell it through deception? In that, it has a lot in common with their progressive agenda.

The Left has become nothing more than a baby with eternally full diapers and the mental capacity to match. The only problem is that they are the ones at the wheel.

With all of the vitriol and verbal terrorism coming out of the Left’s mouths over the last several weeks on such earth-shattering subjects such as whether Rush Limbaugh is allowed to buy an NFL team or whether pointing out the very red color of the latest health care charade, one subject has slipped under the radar recently. That being the legal status of the President to serve in office.

Fortunately for us, two unlikely sources, the AP and Obama himself, have taken up the cause, even if retroactively and so it rises up from the usual political muck again.

From The Post and Email blog site comes word that in 2004, an AP story claimed that Obama was a proud, self-declared natural-born citizen of Kenya.

To wit, from their site:

What most people know is that the Associated Press (AP) is one of the largest, internationally recognized, syndicated news services. What most people don’t know that is in 2004, the AP was a “birther” news organization.

How so? Because in a syndicated report, published Sunday, June 27, 2004, by the Kenyan Standard Times, and which was, as of this report, available at

http://web.archive.org/web/20040627142700/eastandard.net/headlines/news26060403.htm

The AP reporter stated the following:

“Kenyan-born US Senate hopeful, Barrack Obama, appeared set to take over the Illinois Senate seat after his main rival, Jack Ryan, dropped out of the race on Friday night amid a furor over lurid sex club allegations.”

This report explains the context of the oft cited debate, between Obama and Keyes in the following Fall, in which Keyes faulted Obama for not being a “natural born citizen”, and in which Obama, by his quick retort, “So what? I am running for Illinois Senator, not the presidency”, self-admitted that he was not eligible for the office. Seeing that an AP reporter is too professional to submit a story which was not based on confirmed sources (ostensibly the Obama campaign in this case), the inference seems inescapable: Obama himself was putting out in 2004, that he was born in Kenya.

As the author of the post notes, Google as usual, is trying its best to thwart efforts to find the 2004 AP story in question. As he says…

because if you search for “Kenyan-born US Senate” you wont find it, but if you search for the phrase without quotes you will find links which talk about it.

Thankfully, there is still a screenshot of the Kenyan Sunday Standard, electronic edition, dated June 27, 2004 that carries the headline and opening sentence of “Kenyan-born Obama all set for U.S. Senate”.

Certainly eyebrow-raising, if nothing else. As the Chinese curse goes, “May you live in interesting times”.

For more, including a chronological breakdown of the differing claims of birthplace from Obama and/or his campaigns, go to Post and Email blog site.

Another day, another outrage.

Not that this latest puke reporting is it at all surprising, since we no longer have a news media in this country. Outside of a few brave souls and hard working reporters in the field, the so called MSM has become little more than a used up street whore, 10 day old makeup caked to her hair, breath as bad as sewage treatment plant and varicose veins running up and down her legs and with every STD in between them. Desperate to stay relevant in today’s society, they clan together in their own informational crackhouses, smoking their bongs and pipes that come in the flavors of Marx, Lenin, Chavez, Mao and Obama. They share such an enclave with the vermin and the roaches, but even those critters stop to clean themselves whenever they come in close contact with such filth.

As has been reported by many today, the AP, defying the the requests of a Marine’s family and the personal request of Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, went ahead published a photo of Lance Cpl. Joshua M. Bernard of New Portland, Maine, as he lay dying.

From Politico: (Hat Tip: Black Five and Michelle Malkin)

Defense Secretary Robert Gates is objecting “in the strongest terms” to an Associated Press decision to transmit a photograph showing a mortally wounded 21-year-old Marine in his final moments of life, calling the decision “appalling” and a breach of “common decency.”

The AP reported that the Marine’s father had asked – in an interview and in a follow-up phone call — that the image, taken by an embedded photographer, not be published.

The AP reported in a story that it decided to make the image public anyway because it “conveys the grimness of war and the sacrifice of young men and women fighting it.”

The photo shows Lance Cpl. Joshua M. Bernard of New Portland, Maine, who was struck by a rocket-propelled grenade in a Taliban ambush Aug. 14 in Helmand province of southern Afghanistan, according to The AP.

Gates wrote to Thomas Curley, AP’s president and chief executive officer. “Out of respect for his family’s wishes, I ask you in the strongest of terms to reconsider your decision. I do not make this request lightly. In one of my first public statements as Secretary of Defense, I stated that the media should not be treated as the enemy, and made it a point to thank journalists for revealing problems that need to be fixed – as was the case with Walter Reed.”

“I cannot imagine the pain and suffering Lance Corporal Bernard’s death has caused his family. Why your organization would purposefully defy the family’s wishes knowing full well that it will lead to yet more anguish is beyond me. Your lack of compassion and common sense in choosing to put this image of their maimed and stricken child on the front page of multiple American newspapers is appalling. The issue here is not law, policy or constitutional right – but judgment and common decency.”

Now, as if having the largest wire service in the country publishing this photo and having it blasted all over newspapers and sites that carry AP was not bad enough, one of their fellow proxies and a true vaginal wart on the body of the blogosphere, the Huffington Post, has decided to publish in Malkin’s words, “reprinting a massively large version of the image on its front page with an accompanying blog commentary praising the AP photographer’s work as ‘tasteful”. I can just see the lefties there now, getting orgasms and hard-ons just mentally jacking off to such an image. Just as many of these mouth breathing, sewer dwellers have been doing for over 40 years. The types that only want to see the American flag when it is draped over the coffin of a fallen hero or being burned by some Code Pink hermaphrodite.

I will not pollute my blog by giving the link and the traffic to such a vile and loathsome site. You can either go to Malkin’s site and click there or go the H&P home page. I am sure they now have it as their site background image.

No More Talk Radio Hosts on CNN?

Exclusive: TVNewser has learned, and a CNN spokesperson confirms, that in his morning editorial meeting today, CNN/U.S. president Jon Klein asked his show producers to avoid booking talk radio hosts. “Complex issues require world class reporting,” Klein is quoted as saying, adding that talk radio hosts too often add to the noise, and that what they say is “all too predictable.”

One of CNN’s longtime show hosts, Lou Dobbs, hosts a daily radio show. A few political contributors also host radio shows including Bill Bennett and Roland Martin. They are presumably not affected by this.

You cannot help but wonder who will fill those guest slots. I assume calls have already gone out to to the SEIU, the New Black Panther Party and that Kim Jong-il’s Twitter account has been buzzed over the opening.

(Win a free pacemaker if you are under 100 years old!)

The 98-pound weakling rating number was a mere 1.1. You could have a C-SPAN Booknotes show with John Kerry reciting the Boston telephone book get a better rating than that. And that is with the TV’s sound set at 10.

So, maybe there is a little hope out there in the hinterlands and flyover country. Just a little.

From The Live Feed: (Hat Tip: Michelle Malkin)

President Obama’s town hall meeting on health care delivered a sickly rating Wednesday evening.

The one-hour ABC News special “Primetime: Questions for the President: Prescription for America” (4.7 million viewers, 1.1 preliminary adults 18-49 rating) had the fewest viewers in the 10 p.m. hour. The special tied some 8 p.m. comedy repeats as the lowest-rated program on a major broadcast network.

Best comment on this from AlohaGuy:

Just a guess, but I’ll bet more people watched Katie Couric get her colonoscopy…more interesting and less crap.

True dat.

Nevermind that there are three to this ceremony of wedded, leftist bliss. This is the 21st century and marriage can mean anything to anybody at anytime, anyplace.

Now, will Obama sit on a golden, royal throne while Charlie Gibson and the ABC production team kneel, bow and curtsey to Dear Leader?

From the Drudge Report: (Hat Tip Michelle Malkin)

ABC TURNS PROGRAMMING OVER TO OBAMA; NEWS TO BE ANCHORED FROM INSIDE WHITE HOUSE
Tue Jun 16 2009 08:45:10 ET

On the night of June 24, the media and government become one, when ABC turns its programming over to President Obama and White House officials to push government run health care — a move that has ignited an ethical firestorm!

Highlights on the agenda:

ABCNEWS anchor Charlie Gibson will deliver WORLD NEWS from the Blue Room of the White House.

The network plans a primetime special — ‘Prescription for America’ — originating from the East Room, exclude opposing voices on the debate.

The RNC fired off a letter last night to ABC News. One of the money lines:

In the absence of opposition, I am concerned this event will become a glorified infomercial to promote the Democrat agenda. If that is the case, this primetime infomercial should be paid for out of the DNC coffers. President Obama does not hold a monopoly on health care reform ideas or on free airtime.

No, but he holds a monopoly on many things right now and the outright government ownership of outlets like ABC is not far behind, as their ratings continue to sag and the inevitable “bailout” comes their way. The only difference here is that unlike GM or Chrysler, the media CEO’s will not need to be fired, since they are dutifully pumping out the White House’s propaganda without having their fingers being stepped on.

Part of the ABC response:

“ABCNEWS alone will select those who will be in the audience asking questions of the president. Like any programs we broadcast, ABC News will have complete editorial control. To suggest otherwise is quite unfair to both our journalists and our audience.”

To paraphrase Mark Twain, there are lies, damn lies and then there is the media.

A: The White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner.

This stopped-up toilet of an event should have been rated X for eXXXtra revolting, as some of the bathroom “jokes” that passed for “humor” were about 100 times more noisome than my cat’s litter pan is at this very moment.

For those of you in Rio Obama, that means it stunk worse than Jerrold Nadler after two hours at a Taco Bell all-you-can-eat buffet.

Aside from the lame jokes that Obama tried to pass off as enlightened speech, we had some odd freak that I doubt 95% of the country has ever even heard of, spouting the usual checklist of Leftist hate speech:

1) Rush Limbaugh is a traitor. Check
2) Rush Limbaugh is a terrorist (calling him the 20th hijacker). Check.
3) Wishing Rush Limbaugh dead (of kidney disease). Check.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what passes for “funny” in today’s Leftist culture. Three jokes about Rush Limbaugh. Now I know why the comedy writers went on strike. Their “R” and “L” keys kept breaking off from overuse.

And who in Sam Hill is Wanda Sykes? That sounds like a Z-grade porn name, not one a “cool” comedian would use. Then again, she could be moonlighting as the former for all that I know.

As for reaction, Robert Gibbs, the lobotomized Howdy Doody White House Press Secretary had this to offer: (Hat Tip: Michelle Malkin)

In his daily briefing Monday, Robert Gibbs distanced the president from comedian Wanda Sykes’ joke comparing Rush Limbaugh to a 9/11 hijacker at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner.

“I don’t know how the guests get booked,” Gibbs said, adding that he hadn’t “talked specifically” with Obama about Sykes’ crack.

“I think there are a lot of topics that are better left for serious reflection rather than comedy. I think there’s no doubt 9/11 is part of that,” Gibbs continued.

Gibbs seems not to be with the program, as according to The Hill (Hat Tip: The Weekly Standard)

President Obama gave [Sykes] a thumbs up.

“He told me I did a great job,” Sykes said. “The first lady said the same thing. I got a well done from the president, I’m on cloud nine.”

Doug Powers had better lines. Some gems:

“If you’re wondering why the president is in a good mood, it’s because he’s glad to be finished with his annual physical. During his colonoscopy doctors removed two benign polyps and the White House Press Corps.”

“This isn’t the first time Barack Obama has denied any knowledge of a New York City buzz – the first being the time he smoked a joint with William Ayers at ’21.’”

“In closing, I’d like to say thank you to the man who is responsible for all this. I’d like to, but George Soros isn’t here tonight. They don’t let George and Barack in the same room anymore because the last time they did, Joe Biden got tangled up in the puppet strings.”

Now, here is some real comedy at the same event a few years ago:

A cartoon made some 50 years ago that is so dead on when it comes to people falling for snake-oil salesman, class warfare, curtailing of free speech and how this country has been dragged down to the brink by the Left, it is chilling.

Hat tip to ColonialMarine0431 at Free Conservatives for posting this.

A couple of things stand out:

1) The use of the suffix “ISM” as the elixir of Utopia. Sheer genius there.
2) Near the very end of the cartoon, when the salesman is chased away, he passes in front of a shining city on a hill. Cannot help but think of Reagan there.
