Cutting the Fat

Well, it seems like The Huckster is not the only one trying to get more votes with a slimmer figure.

Candidate’s Campaign Doctors Photo, Puts His Head on Skinnier Body
Saturday, January 19, 2008

HOUSTON -” Some politicians talk about cutting the fat, but this one was serious.

Congressional candidate Dean Hrbacek appears slimmer than usual in a new campaign brochure because a photo of his head was affixed to the image of a different body.

While the mailer sent to voters this week by the former Sugar Land mayor says “Dean’s record speaks for itself,” his physique clearly does not.

The picture, presented as a true image of the candidate, is a computerized composite of Hrbacek’s face and someone else’s slimmer figure, in suit and tie, from neck to kneecaps.

Hrbacek, a tax lawyer and accountant, did not immediately return a call placed to his campaign headquarters Friday by The Associated Press. He’s among 10 Republicans seeking the nomination to run against U.S. Rep. Nick Lampson, D-Stafford.

Thermostats paroled and Extreme Climate Change

Posted by NosferatusCoffin | January 18th, 2008

Looks like that CA thermostats have been given a pardon, at least for a year. Granted, since these are Stalinist Lefties and California ones at that, they will come back with this Thermostats Gestapo tactic year after year after year. Once the EnivroMarxists (A Sanity Trademark) get their teeth into one of their moonbat and deadly ideas, there is no stopping them. It is like putting a steak in front of Rosie O’Donnell and telling her to sit.

As for moonbats and their gas…

Obama’s Standup and Edwards “Pain”

Posted by NosferatusCoffin | January 18th, 2008

I see that Obama debuts a new act in Sin City.

A portion:

Obama began by recalling a moment in Tuesday night’s debate when he and his rivals were asked to name their biggest weakness. Obama answered first, saying he has a messy desk and needs help managing paperwork -” something his opponents have since used to suggest he’s not up to managing the country. Former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards said his biggest weakness is that he has a powerful response to seeing pain in others, and Clinton said she gets impatient to bring change to America.

Puke on The Breck Girl’s “I feel your pain”. The only thing more important to him than channeling dead babies and foreclosing on Katrina homes is his hair:

As for Osama errr…Obama, well if I was him, I would not quit my day job. Though, even these lame jokes are light-years better than Bill “I am obsessed with gays: Maher has ever uttered.

Michelle Malkin also covers this Improv Act.

Hillary’s Plan B?

Posted by NosferatusCoffin | January 8th, 2008

From RCP’s Jay Cost at the HorseRaceBlog, an interesting article and theory about how Hillary can still win the nomination even if she wins very few primaries. Basically it would be a return to smoke-filled rooms and using the Super-Delegates, that for now are heavily for Hillary, to tip the scales at the convention. As of now, that scenario seems a little more likely on the GOP side. (Though the GOP does not have Super-Delegates).

Also, there is a Plan B (version 1) going on as a lot of Bill’s old campaign hands will be joining the faltering campaign as early as tomorrow, headlined by the return of The Creature from the Black Lagoon and Gasbag (Carville and Begala, respectively).

Gibbs retires as coach, president

Posted by NosferatusCoffin | January 8th, 2008

A very sad day for all of us lifelong Skins fans, although I cannot say it is very surprising. I do not think anyone wants to go through another season like this.

The plan for a long time was basically to have Williams take over as HC when Gibbs stepped down. However, with Cowher out there, I am sure that Snyder will be hard pressed to make a run at him. Although, I would hate for the team’s chemistry to be disrupted with a new coaching staff.

Gibbs retires as coach, president

Coach Joe Gibbs of the Washington Redskins leaves the field after a loss against the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Wild-Card Playoff game at Qwest Field in Seattle, Wash., Saturday.

Joe Gibbs has resigned as coach and president of the Washington Redskins, the team said today.

Gibbs planned to announce his decision today at a 3 p.m. press conference at Redskin Park.

The 67-year-old Gibbs had just completed what he called his “toughest season,” a campaign that included a long string of injuries to key players, the murder of star safety Sean Taylor, four straight heartbreaking defeat, a stirring run to the playoffs and, finally, a first-round exit in the postseason.

The Redskins were eliminated from the playoffs by the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday. At a press conference on Monday, Gibbs declined to discuss his future with the team.
