Obama levels the ‘playing field’: When everyone’s poor, no one will be

Posted by Talismen | March 10th, 2010

Liberalism cannot exist without convincing the masses that there are those within society that cannot and should not care for themselves, no matter the reason, rhyme or consequence. It is from that basis alone that democrats, “progressives”, socialists, marxists (etc) will all agree that a certain degree of dependence upon government is essential to the “well being of society”. Ask and your government shall give, knock and your government will open the door. After all, what kind of government would turn away those truly in need, right?

Ahhh yes…But at what cost, and in what form? Have you ever asked yourself, what does government get out of the deal? Think about this for a moment….

When a person agrees to accept help, of any kind, from government, they by default agree to give up a part of their lives. Don’t believe me? Try this on for size…

A person who applies for food stamps is allowed to make a small amount of money, without the amount affecting their total allowance of food stamps on a regular basis. So, say you’ve lost your job, are on food stamps, and finally find a job that could get you back on your feet again. It doesn’t pay quite enough to cover everything, but, it’s a start, and a foot in the door. For the moment, you need the food stamps to “fill the gap”. But, the government finds out and takes away part of your food stamps. Oops…there goes the “gap”.

You see…government will gladly be your “sugar daddy”, if you agree not to strive too hard to better yourself and your situation. Government assistance is easy to get, and easy to live on, if one believes they really have no reason to better themselves or their situations in the first place. Hey! Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free, right?

Then, those folks who manage to better their lives and get a good paying job, are eventually taxed higher, and higher, as they climb up the income bracket, by a punitive tax system that robs from the so-called “rich”, and gives to….well, gives to whomever happens to be on the government dole at the time.

Ergo – if you find yourself on the good side of the government’s “naughty and nice” list, kicking back, getting checks in the mail, enjoying food stamps, and tax credits a-plenty…Just remember that you’ve also give up your right to do better.

Slavery didn’t end in 1865 — it just took on a different form.

And now obama wants to make sure that even more of us are considered “poor”, so we’ll come crawling to uncle sam for a hand-out, and thus be placed on the rolls and under ‘nanny state’ control.

The interesting thing about our modern-day definition of “poor”?
Read here: Understanding Poverty in America

h/t: Townhall
(snip)

*Nearly 40 percent of all poor households actually own their own homes. On average, this is a three-bedroom house with one-and-a-half baths, a garage, and a porch or patio.

*Eighty-four percent of poor households have air conditioning. By contrast, in 1970, only 36 percent of the entire U.S. population enjoyed air conditioning.

*Nearly two-thirds of the poor have cable or satellite TV.

*Only 6 percent of poor households are over?crowded; two-thirds have more than two rooms per person.

*The typical poor American has as much or more living space than the average individual living in most European countries. (These comparisons are to the average citizens in foreign countries, not to those classified as poor.)

*Nearly three-quarters of poor households own a car; 31 percent own two or more cars.

*Ninety-eight percent of poor households have a color television; two-thirds own two or more color televisions.

*Eighty-two percent own microwave ovens; 67 percent have a DVD player; 73 percent have a VCR; 47 percent have a computer.

Government is your friend…As long as you have no other ‘friends’ before it.

Now, bow down and worship your political ‘messiah’….ey?

Harry Reid: “Only 36,000 Lost Their Jobs Today”

Posted by NosferatusCoffin | March 5th, 2010

Time for the rubber room.

Ah, and now President “I am going to lower the oceans” has chimed in.

From The Hill: (Hat Tip: Michelle Malkin)

President Barack Obama boasted Friday that his economic recovery efforts were showing results after the national unemployment rate stayed at a steady 9.7 percent for February.

Obama, touring a small business in Arlington, Va., said that the 36,000 jobs lost last month was ‘actually better than expected’ considering the massive snowstorms that devastated the East Coast.

So those Global Climate Warming Change blizzards not only caused STDs on snail darters and contaminated Michelle Obama’s veggie garden, but now it causes unemployment, too? Who knew?

Well, in November well over 100+ Democrats will be losing their jobs. And that is a VERY, VERY, VERY GOOD thing. (I might revise the Sanity poll numbers up, since it is not out of of the realm of possibility that the Dems could lose 150-175 seats)

Remember, the only sector where employment is booming is at the government level and every time a bureaucrat or phony ACORN Census worker is hired, someone in the private sector has to pay for that job. It is not “paid for” from Obama’s “Stash” (aka the Obama Slush Fund, aka the Porkulus, aka The Generational Theft Act)

Thanks for yet another campaign ad, Dems. You are making this too easy.

Unemployment is 100% when it’s you.

I wouldn’t spit on Reid’s head if his hair was on fire.

Obama and Dems Rapped and Hip-Hopped in New Parody Video

Posted by NosferatusCoffin | March 4th, 2010

Like about 99% of Americans, I could care less about rap or hip-hop. However, the video below, produced by OTP (for One Term President) is very clever, well written and well performed. Take a look for yourself:

More White House Sleaze – Judgeships Now for Sale

Posted by NosferatusCoffin | March 3rd, 2010

And we thought Clinton selling the Lincoln Bedroom to Hollywood friends and selling missile guidance technology to the ChiComs for filthy campaign lucre was the end. Well, we have a new topper when it comes to the sleaze, graft and corruption that makes up 100% of the Democratic Party leadership. And now sleazy backroom deals for what should be an honored post.

From The Weekly Standard: (Hat Tip to The Mark Levin Show)

Tonight, Barack Obama will host ten House Democrats who voted against the health care bill in November at the White House; he’s obviously trying to persuade them to switch their votes to yes. One of the ten is Jim Matheson of Utah. The White House just sent out a press release announcing that today President Obama nominated Matheson’s brother Scott M. Matheson, Jr. to the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.

Of course, this is hardly the first time this has happened with this White House. You might remember that Democratic Congressman Joe Sestak’s claim that he was offered a federal job not to run against Arlen Specter in the Pennsylvania primary. (the rumors are that it was the Secretary of Navy position seeing that Sestak is a former admiral)

A fish most certainly does rot from head down. This White House and Irregular Congress is most certainly the most noisome group of criminals that this country has ever seen pollute the hallowed halls of the Capitol building. And they prove it day in and day out, to all of our detriment.

Summit Disaster Notwithstanding, Dems Plan to Push ObamaCare Bill Next Week

Posted by NosferatusCoffin | February 26th, 2010

To quote a commenter from Hot Air today, “It’s almost like a personal vendetta against the American people at this point for the Democrat leadership”.

How true.

From Politico:

After a brief period of consultation following the White House health reform summit, congressional Democrats plan to begin making the case next week for a massive, Democrats-only health care plan, party strategists told POLITICO.

A Democratic official said the six-hour summit was expected to “give a face to gridlock, in the form of House and Senate Republicans.”

Democrats plan to begin rhetorical, and perhaps legislative, steps toward the Democrats-only, or reconciliation, process early next week, the strategists said.

After the summit, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid planned to take the temperature of their caucuses.

“The point [of the summit] is to alter the political atmospherics, and it will take a day or two to sense if it succeeded,” the official said.

Positive statements by Sen. Evan Bayh (D-Ind.) and Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) of late “are early signs the environment is already shifting a little in favor of revisiting health care.”

Democrats plan to take up the president’s comprehensive, $950 billion plan — referred to on the Hill as “the big bill.” The alternative would be a smaller — or “skinny” — bill that would provide less coverage and cost less. But that would amount to starting the complex process over.

I cannot help but wonder what new payoffs, buyouts and cushy appointments will come out of this latest round of hedonistic haggling.

Also, a suggestion to the GOP. Do not emulate the Dems and use the same talking point word over and over. I have heard the term “clean sheet of paper” about 20 times too many since yesterday. Be more direct and accurate and say, “strangle this bill in the crib”.
